Katrina, Finished At Last

I finally finished the Katrina top this past weekend. I redid the neckline three or four times. I wanted to make something more than just a plain neckline. I tried several things though and they just didn't come out right. Mostly they were too floppy for my taste. Finally I decided it would be winter before I found a suitable edging at the rate I was going. So I ended up with a plain round garter stitch edge. Not very fancy but it works. It's a good, comfortable top for summer.

Since I was getting frighteningly close to having nothing on the needles, I started another pair socks. After all, you can't have too many socks, especially hand knit socks. The yarn for these socks is Cherry Tree Hill Supersock in African Grey. You can see a picture of the yarn in the July 20 entry. I decided to do the May socks from the Socknitters List 2003-2004 Sock Challenge. If you are interested, you can download the patterns. Note that there is a correction for the May socks so download the Errata also. The pattern is set up to work on two circulars but I plan to use my trusty double points. I also doubt that I will cast on 80 stitches but we'll see. Which reminds me, if you are afraid of changing the number of stitches that you cast on because you aren't sure how to handle the heels, try the Heels By Number web site. It only exists in the Internet Archive WayBack Machine now, another extremely useful site for finding those web sites that have disappeared from the Internet.

Off to ponder my next non-sock project.
