A Little Bit of Everything

I really have been doing fibery stuff lately, honest. I just don't have much to show for it. I'm still spinning up the llama. I only do a little bit at a time but it's getting easier. I still end up with llama fluff everywhere but I've just decided that's the nature of the beast (no offense to any llamas out there). I would show you a picture of that but it wouldn't look much different from the last picture, just more of it. I also decided to over dye my homely roving that I mentioned on August 3. It's doesn't look quite so homely now but I'm still not satisfied. I decided I would go ahead and spin it up to see how it looks. Last but not least, I've started on the May socks from the 2003-2004 Sock Challenge in Cherry Tree Hill Supersock. So far I've just got one cuff done. Not very exciting but I do have a picture.

It's interesting because the color changes worked out to be longer than I thought they would when I looked at the skein. I like the way it's turning out though, for a cuff that is.

I also have been browsing some sites to get some ideas and inspiration. Some of my favorites show freeform knitting and crochet work. Myra Wood has some really nice pieces on her web site. Take a look at the jewelry while you're there also. Prudence Mapstone also has some nice things on her web site with a little different overall style. Personally I like looking at what she calls the "Oddballs", that's probably just my quirkiness though. She also has a book "Freeform: Serendipitous Design Techniques for Knitting & Crochet" that is on my ever growing list of books to buy. Now if I could crochet worth a darn, I might try this. I still might try it one of these days. The internet can be a great place for getting ideas. Hope you find some inspiration at these sites too.
