Chaos Theory
I'm convinced that
my social life could be predicted by Chaos
Theory . It looks, and feels chaotic enough. There are these longs spans when
it seems my social life dwindled down to nothing. So I do a little thing here and
a little thing there to improve it. It doesn't really seem to work at the time though.
Then suddenly my social life lurches out of control and I don't have time for anything,
including knitting and spinning. Okay it hasn't gotten quite that bad yet but it
definitely has cut into my blog time. What's worse, each social event I go to seems
to branch out into several more. I've actually had to resort to keeping my calendar
up to date. Mostly it has been involved with local politics. The area for the most
part has been disappointed with the local politicians, to put it mildly. "Vote
'em All Out" yard signs were cropping up everywhere. Looking at the results
of the local elections, they weren't kidding. Almost all of them have been voted
out in the recent elections. I've been doing my part in making sure this happens
too. It's been fun, even for someone like me who isn't all that obsessed with politics.
I always vote and find out as much as I can about the candidates. I just don't usually
do much more than that. But now I'm beat.
Knitting Progress
- Slowly But Surely
Remember the Cable
Pullover I was working on back when the weather was cold? I didn't think you did.
Anyway, I actually got around to finishing up the last little bit on the last sleeve
and blocked all of the pieces. Now all I have to do is seam it together and knit
the collar. I may actually finished it before the weather gets cold.
I've been making
much slower progress on the May Socks in Cherry Tree Hill yarn. I'm liking the way
they are turning out and the African Grey colorway. The coloring didn't go quite
like I expected but I like it.
A Real LYS
Yes, it's true. We
now have a local yarn store here in town, the Sheepy Yarn Shoppe. It's small but
an appropriate starting size for our area. It has a very nice selection of yarns
and patterns and accessories. The location should be good too. I hope it is very
successful. Up until now, our yarn shops consisted of Michaels ,
Hobby Lobby , and Hancock
Fabrics . They aren't bad, all things considered, but just not the same as a
"real" yarn shop. There is Yarn
Expressions and Knitting
Zone in nearby Huntsville but I rarely get over there during the hours they
are open. Sometimes you just need to stop by a yarn store on the way home from work.
So here's hoping
by current social life doesn't get in the way of blogging.
