This was a long weekend for me and I really needed it. It was one of those weekends where it was hard to get motivated to do much of anything, including knitting. I have been working on the Shapely Tee though.

It shouldn't be long before I'll have the back finished. Then it's on to the sleeves and seaming. The way things are going, I might even have the socks and Shapely finished about the same time. Just in time for fall and winter knitting.

After this past week, I was desperately in need of refueling mentally. I so I did what I often do in times like that, I worked in the yard. A lot of times I hate working in the yard but other times, I need it. This weekend was one of those times. So will I was pulling up some weeds that had sprouted since Katrina came through, I disturbed this fellow, a praying mantis.

The other thing I did this weekend was card and spin some of the wool I had dyed a while back. It's another one of those things that settles my brain. It's almost meditative. The carding is getting better with practice, by the way. So now I'm ready to face the week again. Here's hoping for a calmer one.
