Drive-By Saturday Sky
We're half way through
our Halloween magic shows with the big show on Monday night. We're both tired and
my muscles are feeling stiff and sore. It has been a lot of fun though. One thing
for sure, I'm going to exercise more when this is over. I've
been able to knit a little bit on my sock but otherwise there hasn't been much knitting
here. This morning was a nice day though. We finally had a sunny day after several
days of rain.
I've leave you with
Phoebe who still has lots of energy.

to borrow your web cam for a little while. There are some ferrets online who want
to see me. "

Shopping in My Stash
Karrie
is having a Pretend
Rhinebeck Loot contest for those of us who didn't get to go to Rhinebeck .
I've been admiring all of the stuff everyone bought and envying the people they
saw, so I went shopping in my stash last night. It's always nice when you find something
you forgot about completely.
Starting at the top
left, first is some Mountain
Colors Bearfoot that I got for last year's Socktoberfest celebration. I love
this stuff. Next to that is some Jade
Sapphire Iceland that I got at the local yarn store, when it was still here.
I had completely forgotten about this yarn. Originally I thought it would make a
nice hat or scarf or something. Next up is the purple Rowan
Kidsilk Haze that I bought on our trip to California last year. I've been wanting
to knit a shawl so this may be my next project. At the end of that row is some charcoal
grey wool fiber I bought at Little
Barn ... a while ago. That's another one I had completely forgotten. I think
I was going to spin it up for socks or a shawl.
On the next row there's
some white yarn from Henry's Attic, a big 500 yard skein. I got this at our local
art association "yard sale" two or three years ago. The plan was to dye
it and use it for "something". Obviously that plan fell through. Last
but not least is some silk fiber from Carol Weymar, The
Silkworker . I've never had the guts to spin this stuff up. It's just too beautiful
and too wonderful to touch. I have this fear that I'll spin it up into baling wire.
One of these days I'll have to take the plunge though.
Zoe has been busy
checking the work of the Assistant to the Assistant Network Administrator - that
would be Phoebe.
"Uh, mom,
I'm busy right now, okay?"

Random Monday
Many thanks to all
of you for the kind words on my scarf. I'm pleased that it turned out like I wanted.
Things don't always work out that way.
So rather than a
weekend of Rhinebeck fun, we had a weekend of magic show fun. Not quite the same
but it was still a lot of fun for us and the audience. Here's a fuzzy picture of
me in the green and Rick in the shadows after our last trick.
The show was Saturday
night and we spent a good part of Saturday afternoon getting ready for it. Then
it took us a while to relax enough to go to sleep Saturday night, or rather Sunday
morning. We were both beat most of Sunday.
I did manage to get
a little bit of knitting done. We've got cooler fall weather here again so Katie
has been napping in my lap while I'm knitting, especially if I pull out a shawl
or a blanket.
We've got a busy
week of Halloween magic shows, the usual work stuff, and visitors until Halloween
is over. So I may not be posting as much until November.
