Knitters' Coffee Swap Questions

Here are the Knitters' Coffee Swap Questions, and my answers.

1. Whole bean or ground?
Whole bean. I like to grind my own depending on what I use to make the coffee.

2. Fully-loaded or decaf?
Fully-loaded always.

3. Regular or flavored?
Regular.

4. How do you drink your coffee?
In the mornings I usually add lots milk to my coffee. Sometimes I'll make espresso and just add a bit of sugar.

5. Favorite coffee ever?
A good French Roast or Italian Roast

6. Are you fussy about your coffee or will any old bean do?
I'm probably not that fussy. I have a hard time telling the difference between various beans. The qualities of rare coffee beans are often lost on me. I do like good quality coffee and dark roasts.

7. Favorite treats to have with your coffee?
Most days I just have coffee but sometimes I like to have some chocolate or cookies with my coffee.

8. Anything else about your coffee preferences?
Not that come to mind right now.

9. Yarn/fiber you love?
Sock yarns. Lace yarns. Yarns made of natural fibers.

10. Yarn/fiber you hate?
Acrylic yarns. Stringy cotton yarns. There are times when I knit with those too though.

11. What's on your needles?
A mohair scarf and an afghan. I'm getting ready to start more socks and a shawl.

13. Favorite colors?
I like most colors except pastels. Most of my clothes are in the red, blue, purple range, autumn colors, or basic black and grey.

14. Allergies?
None.

15. Anything you really love, really don't like, or just need to get off your chest?
Nope, just looking forward to the swap.

An Actual FO

Don't faint but I have actually finished my Schaeffer Anne socks. I had hoped to finish them during Socktoberfest but that didn't work out as you can see. No fancy pattern but I like them and they feel wonderful.

Watching election returns last night worked out perfect for finishing them. Now I just need to rummage through my stash to choose a yarn for my next sock project.

I've been thinking about starting a shawl. I just haven't decided which pattern to knit. So far I'm thinking about the Twilight Lace Wrap in the Holiday Interweave Knits (scroll down) or the Kiri Shawl at All Tangled Up. The advantage to either one of those is that I have yarn I could use for those. I thought about the Icarus Shawl but from the reports I've already read, I know I would be knitting on it for years. I'm also getting the urge to knit a sweater so who knows what I'll actually start knitting.

Okay this is just a quick post, so I'll leave you with a picture of me and Katie napping when I was sleeping my life away.

Back to Normal

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I'm feeling much better now. Today was the first day I haven't had an overwhelming urge to take a nap, and I don't often nap. I just couldn't convince myself to blog or read blogs over the weekend. In fact, I'm not sure I did much of anything. It was nice. I did a little knitting on my sock but not enough to actually finish it. I am so close. Maybe I'll be finished by my next blog post.

Chaos is spreading the word that Chappysmom is requesting that we show our November calendar pages for her birthday. It might become a contest if enough people join in. Luckily I've actually flipped over a couple of calendar pages on the calendars at the office. First up is my ferret calendar, of course.

November in the ferret calendar

I usually have at least one ferret calendar every year. Next is my fractal calendar. I really like this one too.

I have more calendars but I haven't gotten around to flipping them over yet.

Last but not least, here's my Saturday Sky, late of course. I had forgotten all about taking a picture of the sky until I looked out the window right after sunset. The full moon was just visible between the tree limbs.

Hopefully I'll have more knitting content for you next time.
