Another Ferret With a Hat

I had great plans to post to the blog last night. Of course, that was before I went in for my six month checkup yesterday and they decided I needed a flu shot. First I almost froze Rick because I kept turning the heat down. Then I ended up going to sleep. Got to love those immune system reactions.

Anyway, progress is slowly moving along on the Kiri Shawl. I've got another pattern repeat completed. It's much easier to see the pattern now. We're in the season of indoor, night photos now but the colors are still close to real life.

In spite of the increasing number of stitches, it does get easier as I go along. Once I get far enough into the pattern, I can tell what the stitches are supposed to be. Plus once you've done it a few million times, you start to memorize it.

Today's picture of ferrets in hats is Zoe in her straw hat. Zoe HATES being dressed up. It's a chore getting a harness on her and she manages to slip out of it half the time. So we had to bring in the hairy man hands in for photographic assistance.

I have a lot better appreciation for the people that take posed ferret pictures.

Sunday Sky

I meant to post a Saturday Sky yesterday but the day got away from me. So here's a brisk and sunny Sunday Sky instead. It's hard to believe it was 74 F on Thursday.

Sunday Sky

I'm not sure where my weekends are going lately, but they don't seen to be going towards knitting. Some of the weekend went towards some much needed cleaning and reorganization. We've just been tossing stuff in the laundry room closet for a while so I did a bit of reorganization there and some general cleaning. At least now I can open the door without fearing that something will fall on my head.

Some people were asking how long I was able to keep the hat on Phoebe. Actually she had it on for several minutes. Strangely enough, I've always found that it's easier to keep a hat on a ferret than something like a sweater or tshirt. Sweaters and tshirts come off practically before they get on. It's hard enough keeping a harness on them. Stay tuned for more ferret hats.

If you haven't seen it yet, check out Chris' cute Kureyon-Chan bag in the latest MagKnits. I'm going to have to try that. Meanwhile, I do have a bit of progress on the Fluted Banister Socks.

They actually go quickly when I make the time to knit on them.

Later!
