Pile of yarn and a spindle

As The Yarn Turns

The tales of how I squeeze knitting and spinning into an already full life

Dazed and Confused

That's been me. We took Monday off for President's Day and it has thrown me off all week. Now that the work week is almost over, I'm finally starting to figure out what day of the week it is. It didn't help that I knit a headband out of my handspun yarn, just in time for the temperatures to hit the 60s. The pattern is a Garnstudio Drops Pattern except I made it narrower than the pattern. I'll save you from seeing a picture of me wearing it. I'm not sure I'm cut out for wearing headbands. I like the pattern, though. The yarn is nice and soft and it will keep my ears warm when I'm walking outside in cold weather.

Phoebe examining the headband

"Looks okay to me, mom, except it's way too big to keep ferret ears warm."

Oops, let me try that again.

Katie examining the headband

"I hope you're not expecting me to wear that."

Well you get the idea.

Since it was still light and warm when we got home today, we took Katie and the ferrets out in the backyard for a little fresh air and sunshine. We're all trying to enjoy the nice days while we can. Katie got a chance to eat some grass and the ferrets played in my weedy herb bed.

Weekend Organizing

We had a quiet weekend so I spent part of it doing this.

Knitting File Folders

I have all of these knitting patterns and information I printed out. Some of them are put into folders but a lot of them are just stuck into one giant miscellaneous folder or in a pile somewhat. So I grabbed some extra folders and my trusty Brother P-Touch and attempted to put them into some kind of order. Now I just need to find a place to put the folders. I guess getting rid of stuff should be my next goal.

Apparently the daffodils knew what they were doing. It was cold over the weekend but today it was 60 degrees. It looks like it will stay that way for the rest of the week, with rain of course. This will be good news for Phoebe who likes to crawl in my sweater when it's cold.

It's also good news for Katie who has been spending the mornings looking for a quiet place away from the ferrets where she can catch a sun beam.
