Oh So Tired and the TP Mystery
Have I mentioned
how much I hate Daylight Savings Time yet? I'm not even close to recovering from
the time change yet. I've never been able to go to bed early and the time change
has only made it worse this time.
As if the time change
wasn't bad enough, my coffee maker died on Sunday. Apparently the early Daylight
Savings Time was just too much for it. It had made coffee faithfully almost every
day for, well, a long time. I actually don't remember when I got it, but I've had
longer than I've had Rick. This one was a combo coffee and espresso maker. Only
one side died so I wasn't completely without coffee and now I'm breaking in a sparkling
new coffee maker and espresso maker.
So to distract you
from my lack of knitting progress, here are some flowers from the yard.
I planted these when
we first moved into the house. I'm not sure exactly what they are, but they are
doing great and have spread into the yard. I kind of like it that way. When I took
this picture, the flowers were full of honeybees. We've had lots of bumblebees,
but these are the first honeybees I've seen here in a long time.

I'll leave you with
the toilet paper mystery. I know it can be irritating when you can't get that first
sheet of toilet paper off of a new roll, but really.
In this case, I think
it was a ferret that couldn't quite reach that first sheet of toilet paper. Sigh.

A Wee Bit of Knitting Progress
Things kind of ran
amok last week too so I got almost no knitting done. Luckily I decided to join Emily's
Wee
Tiny Sock Swap or you would be looking at a few more rows of the same old stuff.
The nice thing is
that I can report a wee tiny FO. Over the weekend, I rummaged through some of my
left-over sock yarn and came up with some Koigu, just enough for a wee tiny sock.
About an hour later, maybe less, I had a finished sock.
Even if it's tiny,
it's good to have a finished object. It looks so much different from the actual
socks. At this tiny size, the yarn actually stripes.
So when you left
me last time, I was going to a magic club meeting. The meeting was in Huntsville,
about an hour away from our house. So on the way over, Rick mentioned that one of
the club members had brain surgery. I'll him Mr. B. We still talking about this
when we pulled up to our usual meeting location and noticed almost no cars. Oh yeah,
this is where Mr. B works. He, of course, wouldn't be here to let us in. Rick didn't
have any of the local club members in his cell phone and didn't have his newsletter
with him. He calls another member who might know, who says it's right across from
Sam's. The only other Sam's we knew about was on the south side of town about 20
minutes away. We drive like demons to the Sam's but the place for the club meeting
wasn't there. At this point we give up, decide we would be better off going to dinner
at our usual Indian restaurant and then stopping by bookstore. So in spite of the
rough start, it ended up being a pleasant meeting.
I'll leave you with
a picture of Katie, who's wondering why I'm not knitting a wee tiny sock to fill
with catnip.
