Rainy Saturdays

Well it's not raining at the moment but it rained yesterday and it looks like it could rain today too. I haven't been a good blogger this week. I'm looking forward to all humans, furry, and feathered creatures being well at the same time. This week it was Rick with whatever cold or flu is going around town. He's almost better now. Oh, and our TV that we bought at the after Thanksgiving sales died a quick and senseless death. Luckily I decided we needed the extended warranty when we bought it, so we at least get our money back. In the meantime, Rick is stuck with our smaller bedroom TV for watching baseball. I don't watch enough TV for it to matter much to me.

I finished the first Mountain Colors Bearfoot sock this week and have started on the second.

Bearfoot sock and Clyde

Still life with foot and ferret.

Clyde is growing quickly but Zoe can still take him in 2 out of 3 falls.

"Clyde you've got to learn the rules of plastic bag wrestling." - Zoe

When wrestling with Zoe gets too intense, he can usually find a place to hide for a few minutes.

Knitting in the Dark

We had a beautiful weekend, warm and clear. We spent most of the weekend inside, though, trying to resolve the great laundry crisis of 2007. I'm very happy to say we were successful and we both have clean clothes to wear now. Saturday night we went to listen to a friend's band. I decided to take my traveling sock along. Now when I grabbed my sock to take with me, I hadn't thought about it being dark in the bar and I don't think I've knit in the dark before. It was dark enough that I had to knit mostly by feel. I fully expected to find lots of dropped and split stitches when I got home. Actually it looks as good or better than the rest of the sock. Course it helps that it's just stockinette stitch. It also caused a little bit of a stir that I was actually knitting in a bar.

That's the knitting inspector passing by. We also spent the weekend playing with Clyde. He's growing quickly and settling in nicely. Katie cat has these fishing poles with feathers on the end that are her favorite toys. Well Clyde has decided he likes them, except he's a little rougher with them.

All of the red stuff around him on the floor are the feathers he's pulled out. Katie has been amazingly patient with him. That's a clump of red feathers under her paw.

Katie protecting her feathers.

"I guess I should protect all of the feathers I can."

I see new fishing poles in our future. After a hard day playing, it's back to the hammock to relax. Doesn't he just look like he needs a beer and ferret-sized TV?
