Still Catching Up
I guess I shouldn't
be surprised that being away from my blog would lead to more blogging material.
Unfortunately, very little of it is related to knitting. I'm still trying to catch
up with that too.
I forgot to show
what we won at the convention last week. We went to the party that CQ
Magazine holds every year. It's always a fun evening and a good time to talk
to all of the people you missed during the day. Plus they usually give out door
prizes. Well we won this crystal serving platter from Tiffany's .
Pretty cool.
This past Tuesday
was our 13th wedding anniversary. We were still too tired to do anything too elaborate
but we did go to our favorite little German restaurant here in town, Hannelore's.
They made us a special dinner and they made us a special card plus balloons and
a cup of candy. It was a fun and relaxing evening. Just what we needed after last
week.
We also did a tiny
magic show this week for the local chamber of commerce and their "Breaking
Barriers" theme for the week. I did my ring escape and Rick did a handcuff
escape. It's been a busy week.
Just to squeeze in
some knitting content here, I noticed the Robot
Shop has cozies for Roomba vacuums. I didn't see any knit cozies, though. Now
who is going to be the first to knit a cozy for Roomba? (No Roombas here in my house.)
I didn't do a very good search so there might be one out there.
I'll leave you with
Zoe and Clyde helping Rick remove a DVD drive from a computer.
"I bet this
is what Dad is looking for."
"DVD drives
are up here, Clyde. You need to know this if you're going to be the Assistant Network
Administrator."

The Random Travel Issue
I'm still here. It's
just that I've been busy and traveling and tired. My unread blogs in Bloglines is
also reaching explosive capacity. So I'm going to try to catch up this week. Luckily
we have a long weekend coming up.
This past weekend
we went to Dayton, Ohio
for a convention. We usually drive up because we have a lot of stuff to take and
flying wouldn't really make the trip easier.
1. Deer will stand
in the middle of the road on the Natchez
Trace almost any time of day. On the way up, an entire deer family decided to
stand in middle of road. Although we lost quite a bit of tread on our tires and
lost a few years off of our lives, we managed to avoid hitting them. They decided
to wander off of the road after that.
2. In spite of having
to avoid wildlife, we love the beautiful scenery and history along the trace.
3. Geese don't care
if it's just a retention pond in the middle of a parking lot. They can still manage
to raise a family there.
4. Apparently every
motorcycle in the Dayton area gathered in this bar (?) on Saturday.
5. I managed to work
in enough time for some
silliness and a tshirt with the Ham Sexy guys.
6. Once again, I
had no Internet access while I was there. It's probably just as well since I also
had no spare time.
7. It's hot and smokey
outside today. I'm assuming the smoke
from the fires in Florida is blowing up this way. That's a lot of smoke people.
We aren't that close.
8. I am so tired
and glad to be home again with Katie, Zoe, and Clyde.
