An Actual FO

There actually is knitting going on here, in spite of my lack of FOs lately. I finally finished my long-suffering Mountain Colors Bearfoot socks on the way down to Florida.

Completed Mountain Colors Bearfoot socks

They are actually a little more red and purple and not so much blue. One of these days I'll figure out how to photograph purple. I love this yarn. These haven't been washed yet but they are so much softer once they have been washed.

I didn't go to any yarn shops while I was in Florida but I thought I would show you some of the souvenirs I picked up.

Souvenirs from Orlando

We found this little pet store while we were there. Well it was a store about pets, not really for pets. Since they had ferret stuff, I just couldn't resist. So I picked up a ferret key chain, a stick on window sign that says "Protected by ferret security", and a hanging sign that says "Spoiled Rotten Ferrets Live Here". I thought it was appropriate that the last sign had two ferrets and a ball of yarn on it. Rick gives me a hard time because I always seem to come back from our vacations with rocks. I also found a rock store near the pet store and came back with a rock carved out into a candle holder and another just plain rock. The sheep socks actually came from the dollar store but I thought I would include them too.

I also got a wind chime from the Ponce Lighthouse, since my old wind chime got beat to pieces in the last storm.

You'll have to imagine what it would look like hanging up. In case you can't tell what it is (and you probably can't), it's a cat trying to catch a fish in a fish bowl. I was pretty good on this trip. That's all I bought.

More Vacation Pictures

Since I had trouble getting back into the swing of things this week, I thought I would divert attention with a few more vacation pictures. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to my semi-normal blogging schedule this week.

While we were in Florida we also went took a tour of Cape Kennedy. We were hoping to see the space shuttle land, but the weather wasn't on our side. We did see lots of space technology.

We also saw lots of buzzards.

Back in Orlando, I had to stop at the Sock Exchange. I didn't see any knitting or sheep related socks, but they must have had just about every other subject covered.

Then when we got back home, I found this.

A pile of toilet paper on the floor

I wonder who the culprit might be.

"What? You think I did it! How could you?"
