Almost A Pair

That is almost a pair of socks. I actually got some knitting done, believe it or not. I'm about halfway through the second Claudia Hand Painted sock. Even though there is a lot of difference in colors between the two skeins, the yarn itself is soft and squishy. I like the feel of this yarn, enough that I can forgive the differences in the skeins.

My solution to make the legs with one skein and the feet with the other skein seems to be working out well.

The baby doves are eating a lot, growing quickly, and starting to grow their feathers.

They look kind of frazzled right now since their feathers are just now starting to frizz out. Their eyes are open now and every now then they flap their little wings. They still have some growing to do yet. According to a friend who raises doves, it won't be long before the parents kick them out of the nest. Sophie and Elvis have started to leave them alone in the nest more and more, so I assume this is to get them ready to leave the nest.

Last Thursday was my birthday. There were no fibery gifts but I did get a new laptop, a solar garden turtle to replace the old turtle that Rick ran over and crushed (long story), flowers, and a lot of good food and good company. Actually my birthday ended up being spread out over several days. It was a fun birthday.

I keep meaning to post more but I just keep getting caught up in life. Maybe this week I can do better.
