The tales of how I squeeze knitting and spinning into an already full life

Catching Up

It's been hectic here. Work is picking back up again. Then add in getting ready for Halloween and getting ready for an art festival down in Clanton, Alabama on Saturday and I haven't had much spare time for knitting. Since Rick's back was acting up earlier this month and we've been so busy, we decided not to do our neighborhood magic show this year. So we had a more normal Halloween, which was a nice break. Except that we had a business dinner meeting and didn't get home until 7. By that time, the trick or treating was in full swing. We get huge crowds in our neighborhood. There was a big group of kids that saw us drive up and waited for us to unlock the door and start handing out candy. I did squeeze in my best pumpkin carving ever.

It's not the best angle but you should be able to get the general idea. If you have never bought one of those pumpkin carving kits, get one. Those little carving saws work much better than kitchen knives.

I finished my Fetching fingerless mitts.

There are two of them but I didn't want to drag out a tripod to get a picture of both of them. The yarn is Rowan RYC Cashsoft Aran and is really soft. They feel wonderful on. The mitts came out a little big for my hands (gauge? what gauge?) but the gauge looks close. I like them, especially with this yarn.

With the cooler weather lately, Clyde and Zoe have been having traveling wrestling matches every morning.

They start out in our bedroom and move on from there.

Talk to you next week.
