We Have A Winner and Some Snow

Thanks everyone for the good Blogiversary wishes! The winner of the Blogiversary Contest is Christina, lucky number 12 from the random integer generator at random.org. This skein of Pagewood Farm sock yarn will be winging its way to you sometime this week.

If you crochet, check out Christina's cute summer hat pattern.

After our 70 degree weather last week, we had snow last night. This was the view from the window this morning.

Snow

This is the second snow of this size we've had this year and the only one that stuck around until morning. The last one turned to rain and melted right away. Once the sun came out today, this snow didn't last long either. At least it lasted long enough to let the ferrets go play in it. Zoe and Dexter didn't really care if there was snow on the ground or not. They were just happy to get outside and ferret around. Clyde, on the other hand, had a blast zipping around and trying to tunnel in the mini snow drifts. He was moving so fast, this was the only picture I could get of him.

Clyde in the snow

"Mom I don't have time for you right now. This is my first snow storm." - Clyde

If you look carefully, you can see his tail puffed out from the excitement of it all. By this afternoon, most of the snow was gone except little bits here and there. It was fun while it lasted.

D is for ...

D is for Dexter Ferret

I lost track of time and almost forgot about D. (click the picture for a bigger version) D is for Dexter ferret. Dexter is one of the most easy-going ferrets we've ever had. Maybe because he's probably the largest ferret we've ever had. It may not be obvious from this picture but Dexter loves food. He has slimmed down a bit since he came here, mostly because Zoe and Clyde try to keep him running and wrestling so he gets his daily exercise. I don't think he'll ever be a slender ferret though. He likes food way too much.

D is for Daffodils

D is also for daffodils. We had an absolutely gorgeous weekend with temperatures around 70 degrees yesterday and today. Apparently that was just enough to get a few daffodils blooming. We're supposed to have storms tonight and snow showers tomorrow so they might not last but they are on the south side of the house where they'll have the best chance.

Don't forget the blogiversary contest. You have until 5 pm Friday, March 7.
