Ferret Spa Day

Apparently Akismet, in Wordpress at least, thinks I'm a spammer, and just when I was starting to catch up on blogs too. It's kind of funny considering that I'm always behind reading blogs, much less commenting on them. Anyway, this has been happening for a couple of days at least. Judging from the Wordpress support forum though, I'm not the only one.

We had a fun, relaxing weekend over Easter with lots of food. For Sunday, I dyed some Easter eggs. It's just not Easter unless I dye eggs. I guess I should have dyed more eggs though. I was looking forward to egg salad, but Rick finished off the rest of the eggs before I had a chance. Usually we have trouble eating them all but this year they were gone in a flash.

A couple of Easter eggs

Then Monday was Rick's birthday, so we had a couple of birthday meals at lunch and dinner. We had lunch with a friend at a Mexican restaurant. When the waiter found out it was Rick's birthday, they asked if he wanted "something" we didn't quite understand. Rick said yes thinking it was a dessert of some kind. Instead it was a flaming shot of something alcoholic. So Rick, who doesn't drink all that much, felt just fine for a while after lunch. It ended up being a fun day for him.

This weekend was also ferret spa day. All of the ferrets had a bath. We only bathe them two or three times a year. They are starting to shed and get itchy, plus it was a warm day so it seemed like a good time. They really don't mind getting a bath. The key is getting the water temperature just right. Here's Clyde in the rinse cycle of his bath.

Here I'm squeezing the water off of Clyde before drying him off with the towel.

Then we put them on the floor so they can run and roll like crazy until they dry off. Here's Zoe getting ready to roll on the towel on the floor. Somehow I missed getting a picture of Dexter but he got a bath too.

I've been spinning and knitting bibs and socks but I still don't have any pictures. Hopefully I'll have some fibery content for you next time.
