Clyde's Most Excellent Adventure

So this morning Rick calls and asks me to bring a monitor cable with me when I come to the office. While we were on phone, I was walking around to make sure I could find one and wandered in the kitchen. My end of the conversation with Rick went something like this.

"Oh my God, Clyde knocked down my plant from my grandmother's pie safe." (About 3 feet off the floor.)

"And your medicine samples are on the floor."

"Oh my God, Clyde is in the kitchen sink right now!"

The sharp readers among you will notice I had decided it was Clyde before I even saw him. These things are almost always Clyde's fault. This is what we decided had happened. The pie safe has a door on the bottom with a couple of shelves. Clyde opened the door and climbed up the shelves to get to the work surface where I have my orchid. He pushes the orchid off onto the floor. We're not quite sure if he got back down to play with plant or it naturally made the huge mess when it exploded on the floor. From the pie safe, he was able to leap over to the bar where Rick keeps his medicine. He finds some medicine samples and knocks them on the floor. From there it's an easy jaunt to the sink where I found him. Sometimes ferrets can be too smart. Rick said he had a talk with Clyde before I got home this afternoon. The orchid is now repotted. Luckily it's a sturdy orchid. This isn't the first time it's been dumped on the floor.

Last week was all about roofing. Meet our new roof.

New roof

We've been needing a new roof so we finally found a roofer we liked. On Tuesday we agreed on shingles and he said he'd call later to tell us whether he would be able to start on Wednesday. He never did. Then very early Wednesday morning, we're still sleeping when the roofers start banging away. Rick dashes up to move the cars out of the way. Katie hides under the bed and I get up to plug-in the Feliway diffuser I had stashed away. Two and a half days later, they were done and we were all ready to unstress. Katie actually handled it very well for a cat once we got past that first morning. The ferrets weren't bothered too much. Rick and I were tired from keeping roofers hours. It's good to get that out of the way though.

Clyde and Zoe playing

"I feel so much better now that all of that banging noise is gone. Let's wrestle!" - Clyde

"Watch out, Clyde! I can take you in two out of three falls." - Zoe
