Knitting... Really

That's right. I have actual knitting content and it's not socks either. I decided to make a summer top with some of this yarn I have sitting around. With any luck, I'll have it finished before the first frost. I have a bunch of Patons Cotton Top yarn that I got at the thrift store a while back. Last summer I swatched for a few things but never came up with something I liked. Then I found a pattern on Ravelry the other day. It's one of the Berroco patterns, Lavinia. The yarn is a thick and thin yarn and the pattern is fairly basic so it should work. It's not much of a start but I have started.

Last week we discovered that Katie had a big bald spot on her belly. She's pretty private about her belly so we're not sure how long it's been that way. After a trip to the vet, it turns out it's most likely psychogenic hair loss. Cats bath themselves when they're stressed. If it's excessive, their rough tongue takes the hair off. Then it feels funny so they bathe more. The stress of the roofers may have caused it but it's hard to tell. So we're trying to spend more time with her and we also have some pills. I'm going to give it a little time and see if I can avoid the pills.

I'll leave you with another picture of the ferrets playing hide and ferret seek in the pillows on the day bed.
