Fall Has Arrived

Fall has most definitely arrived here. Our first frost came a little early but otherwise, the weather has been nice, if a little rainy. Sunday was a gorgeous day, though, so I went down to check out the Renaissance Faire in town.

Musicians at the Renaissance Faire

There was a great turnout the day I went and lots of craft booths. I haven't been in a year or two, so it was a lot of fun and a great day to be outside.

Our leaves are starting to turn here. The weather has been so crazy, I thought maybe they would just turn brown and fall to the ground. But it looks like we might actually have some color. For some reason the leaves downtown look more colorful than the ones in our neighborhood.

Fall tree leaves

I don't know if it's the trees, more asphalt or what, but some of them are gorgeous.

I actually have been sneaking in some knitting here and there but I really didn't have much of a chance to sit and knit last week. I'll try to have an updated picture next time. Maybe by then, it will actually look like I've made progress.

Emily posted a comment last time for her adorable little girl Ellie, who wanted to know what kind of sound a ferret makes. I sent her a private message but then I realized some others might want to know too. Ferrets are actually pretty quiet, except when they get into stuff.  Then it's usually crashing sounds.  When they're happy, they make this little chirping like noise that I call "irken irken irken".  (Hmm... I've never tried to spell that until now.) A lot of ferret people call it dooking, but to me it doesn't really sound like "dook".  I think that's mostly a description of their happy ferret dance, along with the irken.  When they're happy they'll hop around in a crazy dance making the irken irken sound. So here's your ferret dooking moment.
